San Francisco Public Works, Fire Boat Station 35 Structures Arrive from China

Arrival in San Francisco Bay

The marine structures designed by Liftech for the San Francisco Fire Boat Station 35 design-build project have arrived in San Francisco. ZPMC fabricated the steel pier, steel access ramp between the pier and steel float, steel float, and piling at their Nantong, China, facility and shipped them to San Francisco using a Jumbo heavy lift shipping vessel. The float and pier were secured on the deck, and the access ramp and piles were stored in the hold below deck. Alex Huang from our Liftech Shanghai Limited affiliate office helped review the fabrication work, lifting plans, and seafastening design and implementation.

The vessel entered the San Francisco Bay on January 30 and offloaded the components from January 31 to February 2. The float was transported to Treasure Island for installation of the building and utilities. The other components were transported to the Alameda site of the marine contractor, Power Engineering Construction Company, to await installation in San Francisco. ZPMC representatives from China were on hand during the offload and handover to help ensure a successful delivery.
