Supporting Our Community

Liftech’s culture has always been to mentor and enrich students through education by participating in local scholarship and fundraising programs. We also take an active role in supporting local port activities.  Structural engineers Erik Soderberg, Sugi Loni, Derrick Lind, and Anna Dix represented Liftech in port-sponsored events this year that included providing educational opportunities for Bay Area youth.

The Port of Oakland held its 11th Annual Oakland Breakfast of Champions Educational Benefit at the Oakland Zoo on October 18, 2012. Proceeds from this function are presented to local educational institutions to enrich the lives of Bay Area students.

The Port of Redwood City and Redwood City Education Foundation teamed up to co-sponsor PortFest on October 6, 2012. This all-day waterfront festival offers proceeds to benefit the school children of the Redwood City School District by providing music programs that keep them engaged in school and build self-confidence.

The Port of Richmond held its annual Shoreline & Bay Yacht Tour on September 19, 2012, in celebration of 100+ years of business, commerce, and port activities in the City of Richmond.

The Port of Oakland Asian Employees Association held its 21st Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner in Oakland on June 22, 2012. Established in 1993, this program encourages deserving local high school students to pursue post-secondary education.
