Mike Jordan Inducted into International Maritime Hall of Fame

Mike Jordan, Liftech’s founding principal and chief structural advisor, was inducted into the International Maritime Hall of Fame at the 25th Annual Hall of Fame 2018 Awards in New York on May 9, 2018.

Since 1993, the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey has been honoring individuals from around the world who have made a large contribution in the maritime field by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. This year, Mike Jordan was among the four honorees. Mike was recognized for his pioneering work in the design of the first dockside container crane structure for Matson in 1958 and developing structural design concepts of the various container handling cranes that have become the industry standards. Mike has made significant contribution to the evolution of the container crane industry for the past half century. During his 60-year career, he provided engineering services for thousands of container handling cranes worldwide, as well as wharves and wharf structures, floats, heavy lift equipment, container yard handling equipment, and other complex structures. As a visionary dedicated to the industry, Mike continues to foster innovation into the future.
